Today’s game is the Escapist 2. Me and a Friend ended up playing this to kill some time in the evening after Halo didn’t really work out. We settled for this prison in the desert (after planning to work our way up too a D&D themed DLC). Immediately we got the plan to use forks and spoons to shovel our way out through and old mineshaft. Oddly enough Steam just didn’t record a lot of my screenshots, so i’m going to use a lot more words to describe what happened.
We admittedly got a little too immersed in prison life though as we ended up chilling out and playing instruments while doing odd jobs for people around the prison. It wasn’t until we remembered “oh yeah, we’re supposed to be breaking out” that we actually started putting some work in again.
I got the stuff to make a pickaxe from shopping around and by looting the desk in the above screenshot, and we (mostly me) devised a plan. When it’s night time we’re going to plant some bed dummies, and make a rush for the mineshaft, then we’ll surface on the secondary wall. We’ll use the pickaxe to dig our way through the external wall and make a break for it and get home free.
We were set to do it today. But someone forgot they had plans for tomorrow and had to quit early (we’re all good though lol). I did end up messing around with the tutorial prison for a few minutes though. It brought back a lot of memories of playing the Mobile version of the first game on long car trips.
Ironically my preferred way of breaking out back then was using spoons to tunnel my way out. It was horribly inefficient but i treated it like a bigger flex then it probably was back then.
